It takes thousands of words to describe the places I have been to, but if I were to cut to the chase, I would say that Misibis Bay Resort Albay is undeniably a romantic spot.
Just picture the room of a couple on a honeymoon vacation in movies – that is exactly what our room in Misibis Bay looks like: an all white space with a perfect view of the beach; and a bathroom with a bathtub that is positioned to give a total relaxation while watching a movie or simply just staring at the sky.

Additionally, sunset cruise with your partner is just so romantic, isn’t it?
Regardless, considering its other amenities and activities that this hotel offers, it is still one of the places where you can bond with your family and friends; it has KTV room, fitness center, movie lounge, kids room, and activity center where you can play billiards and table tennis.
On the other hand, for the activities, we actually did a lot:
1. Introductory Dive
In all honesty, I am a frustrated diver, seriously. It is one of my goals that I am not sure when I could accomplish as it is a very expensive hobby and I am not a good swimmer – although my diver friends told me that swimming skills are not necessary and that I just need to get rid of my what ifs. But I already did Introductory diving twice, one was in Crown Regency Boracay and the second one was this – this is my first time to do it in the ocean, so the experience is really different, but it helps that I am already familiar with the hand signals and breathing.
Before the Introductory Diving started, there was a 10-minute briefing with our instructor. Afterwards, we proceeded, but only one after another.
My experience was really good considering that our instructor was nice and very outgoing. With regards to its marine life, it is still a beauty, no doubt with that – I even saw huge clams, clown fishes, a puffer fish, a school of sword fish, and other fishes that I do not know its name; however, it just makes me sad that some corals are already dead, and I wish that Misibis Bay do their best to preserve the remaining ones, and to brief everyone to never touch the corals.
2. Sunset Cruise
With a speedboat, we roamed around to see nearby islands and other sceneries like the Sula Bridge. Remembering this experience makes me wonder why we did not bring a few drinks with us? Is that even allowed?
3. ATV Ride
We all went uphill to see the majestic view of the Mayon Volcano, Albay Gulf and Pacific Ocean as early as 5 o’clock in the morning. The trail is a bit challenging, so make sure to be careful, pay full attention and wear all the essential gears.
Look how lovely Mount Mayon is!
4. Cagraray Eco-park Tour
This is one of Misibis Bay’s main attractions, which is only five minutes away from the hotel. You can get here via van for PHP 150 per person or via ATV for PHP 1,500. The highlight of the tour is the famous Amphitheater, which is one of the pit stops in Amazing Race Asia 4.
In here, you will also see the chapel and experience the Luge ride and Zipline.
The view from the chapel – stunning, right?
Here’s what a Luge ride looks like!
We also spotted a hanging bridge in the Eco-park!
5. Other water activities: Paddle Surfing and Jet Skiing
The other activities that we did were Paddle Surfing and Jet Skiing. Unfortunately, Seph and I did not get to try Scuba Diving, Wind Surfing, Hobie Cat Sailing, Banana Boat Ride, Legazpi City Tour, and Bicol Adventure and Underground, due to lack of time.
Of course, the experience would never be complete without a food. Spice Market is Misibis Bay’s only restaurant, which offers Filipino and international cuisine. It was only on our last day that we got to try its main and best dishes prepared and chosen personally by the chef – everything was really delish!
However, on the previous days, what we had was the restaurant’s buffet. The food was fine, but I think it would be great if it were complemented with unlimited juice on the side – or maybe I am just used to other hotel’s buffet.
But overall, my Misibis Bay experience was certainly fun and memorable! I cannot wait to go back, but next time, will make sure to explore Legazpi and its food!
