No doubt that summer is the best season for dressing up, whereas rainy season in tropical countries is a bit of a challenge for two reasons: firstly, its bipolar attitude makes it impossible to know when exactly it is going to rain and not; and secondly, sometimes, sweater and pullover cause so much heat even when it is raining. For this reason, even though rainy season is here, there are still days when you can wear your sunny day ensemble such as your maxi dress.

No one can deny how cozy it is to wear maxi dress and flip-flops on a sunny day, but other than it looks stunning to wear by the beach, that comfy look is not actually winning you any style points in the city no matter how lovely your dress is. The secret is how well you flaunt the dress without putting too many components or accessories and letting the dress do its trick. If my previous blog post about maxi dress told you things to consider when wearing it on a rainy weather, this time, I want you to utilize this dress not with sneakers but in more stylish way like by adding textures.

Textures are one of the simplest yet flawless ways of accentuating no matter how dark or light the color is. Thus, I donned my pleated maxi dress with my black-fringed bag and heels. Why black? Those textures that I added are only minimal, so I wanted to make them a bit louder or more visible by opting for contrasting shade considering that my dress is light blue.
