Encountering a three-minute morning dress up challenge almost every week is a normal thing for ladies particularly the ones who are not morning persons – It is like doing a styling challenge with just a minute of thinking and two minutes of dressing up. And since you are heading out for work or meeting, what you need is a presentable outfit: sophisticated and elegant yet has a touch of simplicity to prevent having too much. So considering the time and the occasion that you are going to, are you still up for the game of mixing and matching? If you can do it as fast as how you decide whether you are going to buy ice cream or not, then go for it! However, if not, then let me introduce you to these easy-peasy steps in putting up a chic ensemble.
Less is perfect and is much convenient. Of course, during your what-to-wear-emergencies all you want to pull off is a piece that will turn out to be your everything; because on a busy day, what you wish to shape is an ensemble that is flexible enough to handle the long drive (because facing a heavy traffic is already part of your everyday life), hours of walking and standing, and hours of sitting during your meeting. As a result, what you just want to wear are black slacks and a plain white blouse – but have you ever thought that in this outfit, you are starting to look like your high school principal whose mantra in life is not to smile and wear her terror face everyday in the campus? Come on! Wake up and care about how you look! Remember, you are not in the game of looking-older-than-your-age so better put even just a little effort in dressing up! Why not try something feminine, but still cozy and simple enough? How about… dresses?
Three simple steps that girls should consider in putting up an outfit that includes a dress: first, choose a knee length dress or at least one inch above the knee – keep in mind that you will be heading over to work and not to party – and decide whether you want plain or print. Second, pick the right color for your belt and shoes. If you are wearing a plain dress, select the contrasting color or go safe with the muted shades. On the other hand, if you will wear a printed dress, observe the dress and choose a color on its prints that is less dominant. So since green is the secondary shade of my dress, I made it as my basis in picking the hue for my belt and shoes. And third, always bring a special buddy, something that will accentuate your whole ensemble: it could be a black blazer, or if you are out on a sunny day, a hat can always give a stylish twist to your outfit, but this only works on the flowy and breezy dresses.
Through these easy to do steps, there is no way you will have unstylish ensemble anymore, even you have unconsciously decided to turn off your alarm and wake up thirty minutes before your meeting on a Monday morning (oopsy!).
