BETTER THAN IPL: CUTERA XEO LASER

When prepping up before heading out, spare time is girls’ best friend; whether it is for doing her hair, putting some makeup on, choosing her outfit, or shaving her legs, spare time should always be part of her day. On the contrary, sometimes, that is the part where I will do everything just to lessen these things and just sleep, take a bath and head out, however, being a girl is not like that. So, instead of waking up an hour earlier than I should be, I thought of trying IPL or Intense Pulse Light, but since 2014 until now, there are still hair appearing on my armpits, which supposed to be gone by now. Hence, I have decided to give Cutera Xeo Laser hair removal a try.

I first learned about Cutera Xeo Laser hair removal when I looked for other hair removal treatments as I am desperately wanted to get rid of my armpits’ hair. Based from my research, it is said to remove hair faster than IPL and unlike other machines, it does not burn skin – by the way, my left armpit got burned due to one of my IPL sessions. As a result, I searched over the Internet the clinics here in the Philippines that has Cutera Xeo Laser hair removal machine and that when I discovered, Skin Philosophie.

Dr. Kyla Talens, the in-house aesthetic dermatologist of Skin Philosophie, checked my skin and asked several questions such as my last IPL session and my experience before starting the procedure. She told me that it is actually better if I did not undergo any treatment before as the effect of Cutera Xeo Laser can be seen quickly, yet it is still fine if I already did. Afterwards, she asked her assistant to shave/cut my armpits’ and legs’ hair and to remember which part has much hair – because that is the part where she would focus the machine on.

Similar with IPL, every part of my pits and legs was shot but more shots to the parts that have more hair. But unlike IPL, Cutera Xeo Laser does not hurt and just feels chilly as the machine gets cooler every second – only cool enough to not feel anything from the machine aside from its icy touch. I was even surprised that the procedure was already done because first, I thought what I was feeling was just a cube ice, which I thought was just the step one of the procedure to lessen the painfulness of the process once she has started; and second, I was expecting some stinging feeling on my skin, but I am really happy I was wrong.

As of now, after four weeks since my Cutera Xeo Laser first session, my armpits got almost no hair at all. On the other hand, my legs still have some patches of hair but there are areas that do not have any.

In regards with its price: the regular rate for Cutera Xeo Laser is Php 3,750 per session, but if you would get a package that includes four sessions, you would only need to pay a total of Php 9,000 – this is not bad, really! Because I already expend at least Php 20,000 for my IPL before and yet, my armpits’ hair was still there.

Will update this blog as soon as I finish my Cutera Xeo Laser sessions! So stay tuned!
