For every brand’s seasonal collection, no doubt that spring/summer collection is the apple of my eye – with those vibrant colors and prints, I do not see why not! But aside from that, ruffles, laces and flares are what I always fall in love with. Thus, for my formal attire at the wedding of my boyfriend’s cousin, which required a floral dress for ladies, I opted for an olive green floral dress with the accent of ruffles on the shoulders.
The thing is, I did not want to wear this dress plain vanilla and I wanted to make it look more formal and stylish. So my thoughts were:
- Because I am wearing an above the knee length dress, a chic pair of heels is a must.
- The neckline of this dress is not appropriate for the shape of my face, so I need to do something about it.
So here is the result: for my shoes, I actually considered wearing high heel ankle boots but they do not seem appropriate for weddings, hence I opted for gold gladiator heels and decided to sport a black lace pair of socks to match with my black scarf and also, to provide unusual twist.
On the other hand, to cover my neckline, I donned my skinny black flower scarf that also gave prim accent to my dress – black, because it is one of the secondary colors on my dress, which can give an impression that it is part of the dress.
But if you are wondering why I picked an above the knee length shift dress and not a formal floor-length dress, it is because this is the kind of dress that I can don again but this time, as a top that I can match with skirts. In short, I can wear it again and style it differently!
