It is true that trends do come and go. Sometimes, it is because of the season but most of the time, it is because of the creativity of a person that always wants to shape something disparate, yet white button down proves that no matter how fast fashion enthusiasts change their mind, it remains to be classic, versatile and stylish regardless of the print or color that the fashion world wants to be on top. Why? Because unlike the other apparels, classic white button down has clearly no rules of wearing and can be styled formally or casually; it can be paired with shorts, jeans, trousers or even skirts, and can be worn with flats, heels or sneakers – it is as if you are just wearing a plain white shirt. However, even there are plenty of ways to sport a white button down, matching it with skirt and sneakers is my favorite routine.
White button downs for me are like blank canvas that provides spaces and chances for prints and colors. For this reason, I always opt for a skirt that has vibrant hues and prints instead of wearing plain shorts on my casual days; because by sporting some colors and prints, I can have more chic and attractive look and not the frequent styling that almost everyone does for the white button down shirt.
On the other hand, because I want to give the look a twist of sporty, I wore my new pair of Keds, which I styled and painted on my own. I painted a design similar with oxford shoes and maintained the white stitches. By doing so, the stitches gave accent to the simple design of the shoes. What do you think?
On a different note, If you wanted the outfit to look more sporty, reach for jaunty baseball cap that has the color that matches your get up! Also, you can tie a knot at the bottom of your shirt for trendier look!
This look is perfect for petites especially that the important points in dressing up are being highlighted: high waist skirt for the illusion of having longer legs, fitted top and bandage skirt to give your body figure a good emphasis, and a cute ensemble that always works out for every petite girl out there!
