THE OTHER WAY AROUND

When going on a date, dressing up is usually the challenging part. It is when you pick different clothes out of your closet, try to fit them, still unsatisfied, then throw them away on the floor and go back again to finding the perfect one. It takes hours to decide and to see that perfect dress that commonly has that flawlessly elegant trait and that always ends up complemented by a stunning pair of heels. However, isn’t too cliché that girls always opt to wear the same style every date they go to, especially when it is just a casual one? Isn’t more fun to sometimes wear a cozy style that is way different from the usual? Plus, you do not want your moment to be interrupted by your aching feet, right? Thus, let me turn the tables for you by putting up an ensemble that will give a different twist and approach to your casual date get up – and by twist, I mean taking that lovely pair of mandals for a walk, well on a date in particular.

Put your normcore skills on a test and plan out an outfit that has both sophistication and style but making it different through the added twist of those boyish sandals. To help you with that, I came up with an outfit that comprised of plains and muted shades while sporting a bit of girly components to still achieve a balance of having a normcore and sophisticated, feminine look.

So I opted this white mullet dress and matched it with my denim vest to give accent and to build a boyish vibe that is similar with the charm of the mandals.

On the other hand, the best thing about mandals and this outfit is that your date can easily create a matching ensemble based on it.

Like what Seph did, instead of opting the same color that I am wearing, he sported a black ensemble to build contrast. Then he wore a brown jacket while I sported my brown fedora hat for a matching touch of color.

And for the finishing touch, both of us opted to wear our Birkenstock sandals. They may look too normcore, but they can also be as stylish as your fashionable t-strap sandals. Just be brave and playful in mixing and matching your clothes and I am sure you will come up to a chicer ensemble compared to the usual normcore outfit. Plus, with Birkenstock, you got nothing to worry about any feet aches or discomfort!

So how you are going to style your pair of Birkenstock differently? What do you think of our outfit?
