Since the day I had my permanent teeth, I accepted the fact that my teeth are not as white as pearls – that was because dentists usually say that naturally yellowish teeth are stronger than the white ones. Since then, the color of my teeth was not big deal, however, considering that I am working in blogging industry where I meet and interact with different people, and where I do a lot of photo shoots, I sometimes feel uncomfortable smiling. Thus, I thought of trying teeth whitening, except that I learned: teeth whitening can have side effects and discoloration might still occur due to food and drink intake. So, I disregarded the idea for a while; until I received an email from The Smile Bar and that was when I decided to try it and see how good or bad really it is.
The first time I knew about The Smile Bar was in Bangkok, Thailand – I haven’t gotten a chance to know the brand more except that it is a dental whitening teeth center. So when I got invited for the opening of its first branch in the Philippines at Uptown Parade, BGC, I was both thrilled and intrigued to get to know the brand more.
First impression: I love how accommodating its staff were and I like that they were explaining every step of the procedure and what it was for. The place looks clean and stunning in white and red, and its chairs are cozy enough to relax for a couple of minutes or more during the whole process.
Now the procedure:
First, the staff assigned to me identified the color of my teeth to compare it after the treatment; Second, she asked me to brush and clean my teeth using The Smile Bar’s toothpaste and mouthwash; third, she queried if I wanted to use their headphones and iPad during the whole treatment, which I agreed to feel totally comfortable and to prevent getting bored during the treatment.
Fourth, she then placed a cloth-like piece on my index finger to use it to remove saliva on my teeth before putting on the mouthpiece with the teeth whitening gel.
Lastly, she positioned the LED Plasma Light directly to the mouthpiece.
After 20 minutes, she removed the LED Plasma Light and the mouthpiece, and then, she assisted me to the wash area to brush and gargle once again to remove the excess gel. And because I opted for Double Whitening treatment, we did everything again from step one to fifth. Afterwards, she classified the color of my treated teeth and showed me the difference.
I was surprised how huge the change was! From S30, it improved to S18 – that is seven shades lighter!
Subsequently, she applied the NanoSeal Total+ to seal the whiteness of my teeth. Through this, discoloration is being prevented and I am allowed to eat or drink anything – smoking is also allowed, it is just that I do not smoke.
Here are my thoughts after the treatment:
Right now, my teeth are whiter and it made me more confident to smile. With regard to its side effects, the only thing I felt a day and a few days after the procedure was, there was a bit of tooth sensitivity – happened only twice but it disappeared right away.
Today is the third week after my teeth whitening procedure and my teeth are still whiter than their natural color even I have no limitations when it comes to my food and drink intake – I think The Smile Bar’s toothpaste and mouthwash, which I still use up to now, really help in maintaining the whiteness of my teeth.
With all this, I cannot wait to have another teeth whitening treatment at The Smile Bar! The price of each service is very affordable and worth it considering the effect that you will get afterwards: Single Whitening (1 x 20 minutes at Php 2,999), Double Whitening (2 x 20 minutes at Php 4,999), Triple whitening (3 x 20 minutes at Php 6,499), and Year Whitening (12 x 20 minutes at Php 24,999).
