If you would ask me, what is my favorite ensemble when doing some errands and when traveling in a tropical country, I would say: anything that looks and feels perfectly good and cozy with denim shorts; because whether I wanted to opt for a casual and laidback look or flawlessly polished, a pair of denim shorts fits the bill.
And to give you an idea, here are my two outfits wearing denim shorts for my casual days:
White long sleeves shirt has always been a classic piece. With its timeless style and versatile color, any bottoms look great with it – what more with denim shorts? Thus, matching them together never fails to look smart and appealing. But to add more style, what I did was to wear my blue floral scarf for accent, which contrasts the color of my top but matches the shade of denim. While, for my bag and shoes, I sported my fringed sling bag and sandals for texture.

However, if all you wanted was a comfy shirt, I suggest to opt for something that comes with a bright shade so that you no longer need any accentuation to avoid making the look boring. As a result, what I donned was a blue shirt with bright yellow print. With this, I gave my look a little twist and made it interesting even with dark shades of denim.

Just a tip for girls with round face shape like mine: when donning any top with collar, it is a must to wear your hair up and to unbutton the top two buttons of your shirt to expose more skin while keeping your round face from being emphasized.
On the other hand, for petites, remember that your goal is to give yourself a bit more height by wearing high waist and shorter denim shorts – but not too short. Through this, you will give an illusion of longer legs.
Overall, styling denim shorts is effortless but it is important to balance it with your top: keep your top proportional to your shorts by sporting the right length and also, the right style to make it look appropriate to where you are heading.
