When you finally have time on hands on a month when everything seems so tied up, rest is the first step that you want to do then usually having a #YOLO moment is the next one, however, for some, there are other things that can make them feel relaxed – one of these is crafting! I know I am not that artsy to say this, but since I was a kid doing some artsy-fartsy stuff during my spare time is my hobby; maybe, because even though the details are a little bit blow-by-blow, everything is still fun and interesting! That was why, the moment I got an invite to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Giving Journal 2015 event, I did not even have a doubt to say yes!
Another year is about to start in just a few months, which means, the month of collecting stickers for your 2015 planner will soon begin. So, in preparation for this, a full of the joys of spring DIY bookmark event was held, which utterly challenged me to do my best in making an entwined wire bookmark for my 2015 planner.
Anagon or Ana Gonzales and Craft Manila were the ones who were assisting, teaching and helping the guests to achieve the look that they wanted for their bookmark. So the first step that they asked me to do was to think of a word that will inspire me to make my 2015 my best year. As a result of having that cheesy blood running in Seph and I, what we did were interlocking bookmarks: he did the word “together” while I did “forever”.
The struggle was real for first timers, haha seriously, it was a bit backbreaking because you have to perfect the strokes to have a flawless outcome. Plus, it was also a challenge to give it a touch of creativity by adding beads or embellish to make it look fun and lively.
After few minutes of laughter and “I’m not sure if what I’m doing is right” scenarios, we have finally finished our couple wire bookmarks! Not bad for first timers right? (Please agree haha!)
On the other hand, of course, I also wanted to have my own La Petite wire bookmark so that was what I did next with the help of Anagon.
After shaping the wire to words, I opted to add a ribbon plus some beads!
Then few minutes later, my La Petite wire bookmark was done! I cannot wait to use it and also, our couple wire bookmark for my 2015 planner and for the book that I am currently reading as well!
How about you? What word/s will inspire you to make your 2015 your best year?
